Training Seminars
Our on-site live training seminars are designed to transfer knowledge and empower corporate teams to move ahead in new or complex areas. Each seminar is develop in close consultation with our client, and usually involves meaningful research to assure the seminar is properly aligned to the client’s environment.
Building trusted information assets requires collaboration and convergence within any organization; our seminars focus on enabling smaller teams to learn the materials, the context and to engage in suitable small-group exercises to develop problem-solving and solutions.
We employ powerful new visual collaboration tools in our training and, of course, provide suitable supporting course materials for future reference. In addition, each seminar participant has continued e-mail access to the Waters Edge professional that taught the seminar for six months, for follow-on questions and counsel.
Here are some examples of training seminars we are currently offering:
Managing the Digital Rules for Business in the 21st Century

A three-hour briefing for law firm management teams that focuses on the shifting economics underlying the new e-discovery landscape. The briefing reviews the Waters Edge Model RFI in detail and describes the underlying strategic opportunities.
In connection with Evaluating the Electronic Discovery of Outside Law Firms , we have also developed full course catalogs for additional in-depth training targetted at the special training needs of companies and law firms in connection with the management of electronic information as evidence in legal proceedings.
Amidst the demands of surviving in a global marketplace, corporate management teams can benefit from the chance to refocus strategically on how changing external conditions can yield opportunity. Similarly, sometimes a little help from the outside can stimulate conversations and internal planning needed for overcoming inertia and developing progress against lurking issues that can cut across multiple business units, duties and budgets.
Our management workshops focus on discovering new business values around trusted information—melding business, technology and economic drivers to achieve improved collaboration and action within an organization. Our directors have significant experience in creative, informative and productive management facilitation. Each workshop adapts key themes to the context of a company’s specific requirements and, like our seminars, are best executed on the basis of dialogue and research in advance.
Our current workshops include:
Litigation Readiness Workshop
A two-day team evaluation of current capabilities, priorities and design requirements for improved control of the legal and business risks arising from poor records management and litigation practices.
Leveraging the Business Opportunities of Global, Interdependent Information Systems
A company-specific dialogue evaluating how standards, open source code, interoperable computing, transparency, automated compliance and other trends influence the business strategies of creating, managing and creating wealth with information.

An exploration of how convergence in multiple business functions is impacting market leadership and the strategies for turning convergence into competitive opportunities for differentiation.
Waters Edge delivers online training that is focused, interactive and accessible, employing the very latest in “rich-media” Net-based technology. Our online courses are of broad appeal to general audiences, but can be readily customized to meet the professional education and lifelong training requirements for organizations that operate at divergent locations or have the recurring need to provide professional training to incoming or transferred team members. Many of our online courses are modified versions of live lectures or in-house training programs Waters Edge otherwise delivers.
